A pioneer of LGBTQ+ cinema for four decades, image+nation culture queer is dedicated to sharing
the stories and experiences of LGBTQ+ people through film and media. image+nation‘s mission is to represent, protect and prepare present and future generations of queer storytellers

and media makers while building empathy through sharing stories with audiences here in Canada, and throughout the world with our online initiatives.
Our signature event, image+nation festival film LGBT2SQueer Montréal – the first of its kind in Canada – features award-winning locally and internationally produced films that strive to preserve the authenticity and diversity of LGBTQ+ voices.
image+nation culture queer is dedicated to nurturing emerging queer content. Initiatives such as I+N Explore and our scriptwriting mentorship program, I+N StoryLab. Also in development is I+N E/SPACE, a Canadian queer filmmaker database and virtual platform project. Exciting initiatives working towards bringing queer creators together to make amazing things happen.

Under our new name and branding — image+nation culture queer — we’re evolving while also reconnecting with our roots: showcasing and promoting queer culture in all its artistic forms. We continue to offer audiences powerful stories and storytellers that reflect and express queer lives and experiences.
Representation matters. Seeing ourselves reflected on all screens is vital — and sharing these stories with family, friends, and communities is just as important. At image+nation culture queer, we nurture and champion local, national, and international LGBTQ+ storytellers, helping bring their queer stories to audiences around the world.
