Jeanne is a gorgeous, mysterious woman in a dead marriage. Mother of one child, she passes her days like a sleepwalker, lonely and lost in herself. At a party one night, she meets exciting, rebellious Marie, a dancer who brings passion into her life. Acting on their immediate attraction sets off an explosive chain of events, including the rage and incomprehension of Jeanne’s husband, as well as Jeanne’s realisation that she has some extremely difficult decisions to make. Neatly avoiding the clichés of this genre, Un amour de femme is a character-driven study of the growing love between these two women, driven by beautiful images and strong performances. - AB
