"I named it ‘Revolution’ because we really need one right now. Plus, I think that Prince’s backup band before the New Power Generation gets routinely ignored." Margaret Cho storms back onto the big screen with the trademark revolutionary, no-holds-barred humour that has earned her legions of adoring fans the world over. Filmed live in Los Angeles, Cho takes deadly aim at everything from Bush (the President, as well as the kind you find in Thailand’s Red Light district: Pussy Play Ping-Pong!), bartering sex for household chores, racism, explosive diet plans, her infamous mother and self-esteem. In response to the tired refrain "Don’t go there," Cho tells her devoted audience "I live there – I bought a house there!" Her fierce wit speaks to all of us who live on the margins of dominant culture, with a message that celebrates and empowers as much as it critiques. – AB
