Queer cinema is ever-productive and prolific. Well-established and regenerating itself with each passing edition of image+nation, we believe that the role of the Festival is to discover and showcase films that originate from all parts of the world. In our 17th edition, we are very pleased to include features and shorts from over 21 countries – some we have come to rely on for outstanding lgbt productions like Australia, Germany, France, Italy, the U.K., Canada, Spain, the U.S., and some we have rarely or never had the pleasure of including such as South Africa, Belgium, Korea, Israel, Sweden, Ireland and the Netherlands. With captivating stories, engaging themes and perspectives that both challenge and expand our own world views, this year’s crop of international titles are thought-provoking, entertaining and above all truly exceptional.
