Rebeca Duarte (Jackie Parker) is a beautiful, bisexual stuntwoman in San Francisco. Accustomed to risking her life daily, in love and work, Rebeca is haunted by her disconnection to her own body. A photo album arrives mysteriously from Peru, her childhood home, containing pictures of her dead brother and parents – but none of herself. Intrigued and unsettled, she questions her mother but receives few answers from her. Rebeca sets out to unravel the web of lies and secrecy that her doctors and her parents have spun her whole life. As she uncovers the truth, Rebeca discovers her own identity and a renewed passion for life. A riveting drama, Both explores issues around intersexuality, a condition occurring in roughly one out of every 2,000 births who are “cured” without informed consent through invasive surgery and hormonal treatments.
